Learning Patterns

Want to know why learning something new as you get older becomes more difficult?

Age Brain wave Cycles/sec. Usual state for adults No. of repetitions required

for new behaviour

14+ Beta 14 – 21 Normal awake Thousands
7 – 14 Alpha 7 – 14 Light sleep, meditation 21 (approx.)
4 – 7 Theta 4 – 7 Sleep, ‘fight or flight’ 1 or 2
0 – 4 Delta 0.5 – 4 Deep sleep -

The information in this chart clearly explains why it becomes difficult to learn new information as we get older. Please note that each brainwave frequency is always present, however, the most dominant one is said to be our “state.” During hypnosis, your brain is lowered to the Theta state, which is why quitting smoking or losing weight becomes very easy with the right instructions under hypnosis.

There is another general rule for forming new habits. The rule goes like this, you must repeat the new habit at least 21 times/days in a row for it to become a new habit. This is relevant because when you are doing repetitive things during the day, they often become “unconscious” actions, and they are done in the theta state. Have you ever driven home from work and don’t remember driving? This is become is becomes so repetitive and so second nature, that your mind can actually detach itself from the task.

Our audio files can reduce your brain wave activity to the desire level and introduce suggestions that will give you the outcome you desire. Basically, it would be like visiting the hypnotist, only much cheaper.
